CLASS OPTIONS...

Friday, Sept 9, 7:00pm-9ish
In-studio class, $25

Glittering Landcape
all supplies provided

This  peaceful landscape reminds me of creek walks as a kid.  I will teach you how to build up layers as we use several techniques and brush strokes to create depth and contrast.  Skies and reflections can be challenging subjects, but I will break it into manageable steps.  We will give the piece a glittery glaze as a final touch.  Frame-worthy!

Modern Fall Vignette
All supplies provided

This modern approach to watercolor plays close attention to white space and wet on wet color experimentation.  If you want to practice using small detail brushes and careful line work, this is a great class for you.  I absolutely love painting in this style because it moves my mind into "flow," in which I lose track of time.  Let's lose track of time together!

Paint Your Pet in 2 Styles
All supplies provided

Do you have a favorite pet or a fondness for a certain animal?  Dog, cat, hedgehog, llama...what's your jam? Send me a photo and I will prep it for this whimsical project.  We'll transfer it to paper and complete both a floral version and an evening landscape version.  We're not going for realistic likeness, just playful beauty!

Holiday cards and embellishments
All supplies provided

Make a pile of cute Christmas cards and learn how to embellish tags and envelopes if you have watercolors at home.
We'll make some simple designs and some slightly more complex designs as we play with color and technique.  This will be a fun creative night out during the busy holiday season.

Escape to Greece!

4 Recorded tutorials, $28

Last September, I took a dream vacation to Greece, exploring Athens for several days and then sailing on a catamaran from island to island for a week!  Seriously, people!  I can't believe I got to take this trip.  I took my watercolors along and spent many hours painting en plein aire, with the intention of sharing my journal with you!  In this series, I not only have you paint the images and colors of Greece along with me as I talk about the trip and share cultural and historical tidbits, I also teach you how to journal your own adventures!

Video 1:  Learn about the supplies and mindset you need for travel journaling and paint the colors of Greece in a vibrant swatch
Video 2:  Paint a Greek seascape with sailboats as you learn about how to simplify and edit the scene
Video 3:  Paint a vintage door from a charming neighborhood in Athens and discover how to quickly build depth in your painting
Video 4:  Paint the Parthenon on the Acropolis and learn how to quickly sketch architecture in 2-point perspective

One more option if you're brand new to my video tutorials...

Supplies and Video Introduction to Your New Watercolor Supplies

Recorded tutorial, FREE

I teach the Greece tutorials using the Koi watercolor field set and Royal & Langnickel brushes.  Here is the LINK to the supplies you can order on Amazon.  I also highly recommend this recorded video tutorial in case you're brand new and want to orient yourself to your new watercolors and brushes before the first class in the series.  Students who have taken this class first say they feel empowered and eager to join the series.  In it, you will create a sampler of colors, brush strokes, and techniques.

Skill levels
My classes are good for beginners and those with experience.  Teenagers love my classes, but adults are my primary customers.  I walk you step by step through each project, giving you tips and troubleshooting ideas.  Each stand-alone class will have a new theme in which we practice several techniques.  If you take all the classes, you will have a full array of new and developing skills to launch you into a watercolor world!
