Welcome to Intermediate Art! (be sure to always scroll all the way to the bottom of the page so you don't miss an assignment) Come to Day 1 of class prepared:
First, bring all the supplies that you already have at home and did not need me to order for you. The items you ordered are listed on the invoice I sent your parents. I will have all the items that you ordered ready for you at the first class, so bring a tote or backpack to transport your supplies. I suggest having a dedicated bag for art class so that you can keep everything together and grab on your way to class.
Second, you will need a reference photo of your choice for our Positive/Negative Sketchbook Cover Project. Print it out in black and white (size does not matter, so you can print it about 1/2 page size.) If your printer is not working, email your picture to me to print.
In my sample below, I started with a photo of a barn owl (if you know me, you know I love owls.) You may choose any real or mythical animal or object that you like....whatever you think is cool or represents an interest of yours.
I will teach you the rest of the steps in class.
Watch This!
Each year, I have my intermediate students watch this TED talk for fun, insight, and inspiration. I hope you love it as much as I do! Here is the LINK in case the embedded video does not work for you.
