My daughter is in art class with Jill Pearson and due to the stay-at-home order she has had to take her classes online. The zoom classes are the highlight of her day. Jill does a great job at teaching over zoom while we can't be in person. She is such a skilled teacher and is able to get my daughter super excited about projects from afar. My daughter also enjoys seeing all the other kiddos and feeling a bit more connected in this time when she would otherwise feel quite isolated. She has a huge smile on her face after each project and enjoys sharing her creations with Jill and the rest of the class as well as on social media. She also loves how Jill stays in contact even when class is not in session. My daughter has sent multiple pictures and videos of art work to Jill and has always gotten a response. She just loves feeling connected through this outlet. -Kristine, parent
We love Riverwood Studio's new online format! My 8-yo is greatly enjoying the wide variety of art projects from foil sculpture to watercolor. He loves seeing his classmates over Zoom and creating art along with his friends. He also has lots of fun watching Jill Person's instructional videos and creating art by himself any time. In fact the flexible format has provided some great opportunities for rainy days, and lots of inspiration for his 5-yo sibling, too! Clearly this class sparks happiness for him, and for our whole family! I highly recommend. Riverwood Studio is doing an excellent job at making the best out of a challenging situation, and providing the same quality art instruction in a new format.- Martina, parent
I highly recommend Jill Pearson's classes at Riverwood Studio! Three of my children are taking her elementary art class this year, and I can honestly say it is the highlight of their week. Now that the classes have moved online, they are still benefiting greatly from the classes. They love seeing their classmates during the Zoom classes. Jill does an excellent job engaging all the students that are present at the live online class. Many times, when my kids are participating in the Zoom class with Jill, I will hear them laughing when I'm in the other room. Not only are Jill's techniques in teaching the kids art online effective and creative, she is fun and keeps the class lively and interesting for all the kids. My kids have also enjoyed the recorded videos of art lessons that Jill has posted for her students. The lessons are easy for the kids to follow and do the craft on their own. My kids have sometimes re-watched the videos so that they can do the craft again! Jill has a unique way of teaching an art project in a simple way for kids, but the end product looks more complex and amazing. I'm always in awe at the variety of crafts that Jill provides and the quality of them. Since "in person camps" are not a possibility this year, I'm so grateful that Jill is providing the camps virtually! Based on how well the Zoom classes have been going, and also knowing how well Jill has run summer camps in the past, I am confident that the virtual art camps will be high-quality and well worth the time and money. I had originally planned on signing my kids up for just one art camp in person this summer, but now that they have moved online, I plan to sign them up for an additional camp! -Sarah, parent
My sisters and I really like Mrs. Pearson's art classes online. Even though I can't go to her studio, I have fun while Mrs. Pearson teaches me a cool art project, plus I get to see my classmates on the computer. I am excited for the art camps this summer! I wish it could start today! -Mary Kate, elementary student
Even though the in-studio art class turned to online due to Covid-19, it was just as fun and engaging. The instructions were still clear and the projects were unique and enjoyable. Jill guides you step-by-step into creating an amazing piece of art! I would totally recommend Riverwood Studio. -Justine, intermediate student
