Set up a board game with some of the game pieces on it. Choose a section of the board to draw from. Add shading. You may use colored pencils to add color if you'd like. See examples below. You don't have to create something quite so elaborate, but this gives you an idea of composition.

What one thing would you consider spending years of your life researching and drawing, maybe even traveling the world to learn about? Name it and tell me why. For me, it would be "mushrooms in the wild." There are over 10,000 varieties of mushrooms and when you study them closely, they are magical and beautifully designed. Some will feed you and some will kill you!
