Homework: If you haven't finish your colored pencil project yet, please complete it and bring it to class to be mounted. Don't let it get damaged or wrinkled!
Prep for next week: Find a reference image or multiple images that will be used for your final printmaking project. Draw a 6x8 inch rectangle on white drawing paper in your sketchbook and design your image. Create a balance of black and white. You don't have to draw every texture line. This will be transferred onto a piece of linoleum to carve out next week. If you use a reference of someone else's printmaking art, please change some aspects of it to make it original to you. You may also use a photograph as a reference, if you want. Search: linocut image or block printing for ideas.
The demo video at the bottom of this page will be very helpful in showing you how to plan and draw your sketch. I ordered the soft cut linoleum like she uses for this project, so it will be easier to carve than the cork-ish stuff you were using on the practice run. You are welcome!
