EYE PROJECT:
Please complete your surreal eye project and bring it back to class (in good condition.) 

Think about a title for your piece.  I will have you fill out a form with your name, art title, and medium(s) used in the next class.

SKETCHBOOK ASSIGNMENT:
Our final project will be a botanical collage.  These are so fun and beautiful when completed.  You can incorporate more than cut paper.  You can embroider, add ink, watercolor, posca pen, pastel, fabric...really anything you can think of.  My supply room is at your disposal!

Come next week with some general ideas after you look through the slideshow.  Here are some questions to ask yourself:

Plain background or layered background?
Plants, mushrooms, or flowers?
A certain kind of flower that you love? Bring a photo of it!
Bouquet in a vase?
One large collage or 2-3 mini collages that you mount together?
Bird or insect included, or just botanicals? 
Add a note of surrealism with magazine images?
Use cut out or stamped words?
Where might you add some embroidery or other mixed media?

You can bring reference photos if you'd like.  A good internet search is "botanical collage."  

You will have 2 class periods to work on this.  You may have time for multiple collages.
