Sketchbook Assignment:
Complete the spheres on your value worksheet that's in your folder.
Then draw one of your shoes with full shading using multiple pencils on white drawing paper. Try to fill most of the paper instead of drawing a tiny shoe.

Art Appreciation Assignment: Ancient Greek and Roman Art
After watching the video, answer these questions on the lined paper in your sketchbook:
1. What two tricks did the Greeks use to make their statues stronger and more stable? 2. The idealized human proportions discovered by the Greeks are used by what kind of artists today? 2. History has seen changes in how people are portrayed in art. Sometimes they are idealized. Sometimes they are drawn realistically and sometimes abstractly (think of Picasso's weird portraits.) We now have filters on our cameras that alter our features. What are you most drawn to? The filters that idealize faces, or no filters...just the real face, or the funny filters that make faces look warped and weird? Why?
